There are more than 100,000 strokes in the UK each year; that is around one stroke every five minutes. The Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at RVI are continually developing their service to provide the best treatment and high standards of care for all stroke patients and we want to make sure we have the best facilities for patients of all ages.

The Bridging Stroke Charity, which is part of the Newcastle Hospitals Charity, aims to raise crucial funds to support and enhance the exceptional care provided to stroke patients.

Following the success of last year's first 10k run, we're excited to lace up again and put our best foot forward to take on another 10k on Monday 25th May.

The route will begin at the RVI, pass through Exhibition Park, continue around the Town Moor, and finish back at the RVI.
