I’m hoping to raise £500 by walking 500km over the course of April. This equates to 310.7 miles which means an average of 16.7km/10.4 miles a day requiring around 3 hours of walking and amounting to roughly 20k steps.

With your help, the money raised will be equally split and donated to Tŷ Gobaith, North Wales via the tribute to Lily Harper Taylor and to Ashgate Hospice, Chesterfield. As they are both local charities I’ve provided more information and my reasons for choosing them below.

Tŷ Gobaith in North Wales (https://www.hopehouse.org.uk/ty-gobaith) provides children with life threatening illnesses and their families with outstanding care & support in order for them to be able to live the best lives they can. Lily Harper Taylor is my best friend’s daughter who was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called osteocrainostenois. Lily was a strong, brave, happy & gorgeous little girl, defying all the odds against her and never letting her diagnosis get in the way of being able to enjoy life. Sadly, Lily grew her angels wings at less than 8 months old on 4th November 2021. Ashgate Hospice(https://ashgatehospice.org.uk) is a place very close to my heart and that of many local to the Chesterfield area. The staff at Ashgate are phenomenal and work tirelessly to make their patients last moments as special and as comfortable as they can be alongside supporting relatives with their loss and grief. Anybody who has experience with the Hospice will know how invaluable it is to our community and I will always be grateful for the care my Grandad received whilst he was there ❤️
