Story
On 24 June, Venezuela was devastated by two powerful earthquakes that struck just seconds apart, causing widespread destruction. Buildings were reduced to rubble within minutes, leaving families with little time to escape. Hundreds of people have lost their lives, thousands have been injured, and millions have been affected by the disaster.
Many survivors have been left without homes and are now in urgent need of shelter, food, clean water and medical care. With roads, power lines and other vital infrastructure badly damaged, reaching those in need remains a huge challenge.
One of our Setfords team members, Mauricio, has family and close friends in Venezuela. Thankfully, his immediate family were safe, but many of his friends and their families were not so fortunate. Hearing their experiences has brought home the devastating reality of this tragedy and inspired us to do what we can to help.
To raise money for those affected, the Setfords team is taking on a 24-hour Peloton challenge. For a full day and night, colleagues will cycle in 30-minute or one-hour relay slots, keeping the bike moving continuously for 24 hours.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help provide vital support to those whose lives have been turned upside down by this disaster.
Thank you for supporting our challenge and standing with the people of Venezuela during this incredibly difficult time. Together, we hope to make a meaningful difference.
