Fundraising for Down's Syndrome Association

Welcome to my personal fundraising page!
As you may know I am running an ultramarathon in April. It is a 150-mile race over 6 days across the Gobi Desert in China. I will be carrying all of my supplies, medical equipment, clothing and food in my rucksack. I will be pushing my mind and body to new levels of endurance and challenge.
The details...
I will be running with a backpack weighing 12-14kg.
I will be running approx 23 mls for 4 days. On the fifth day I run 50 mls before finishing with 10 mls on the sixth day.
I will be running along some parts of the Silk Road and the Great Wall of China.
Terrain will a combination of dry rocky & mountainous, and sandy desert. Sleeping in tents by night in the middle of the desert. Temperatures - mid 20 degree F in the day, down to freezing at night. In completing this significant challenge, I really want to raise as much money as possible. This is my motivation and my fuel for the event. I am running on behalf of my godson, Ben Griffiths. Ben was born in 2003 with Down's Syndrome and 2 holes in his heart. He had an extremely challenging first 12 months, spending much of his time in hospitals across the country. Thankfully, he is now well and showing much promise. My motivation is to be an inspiration for him in his life, to inspire him to live an exciting and normal life. As such I am running to raise money for the Down's Syndrome Association. Please dig deep and sponsor me generously online.
