It has been a dream of mine to run the London Marathon and now I have the opportunity I am not going to waste it. If you don't already know my mum died of cancer 2 and half years ago. During the three month long battle a Macmillian supported nurse called Sarah really helped. Mum hated all the doctors and the other nurses, but with Sarah it was different, she really knew what would help Mum and she never gave up hope, even after Mum passed away Sarah, made a special effort to come and see Dad and I and offered us help with any of the arrangements we needed to make. NHS hospitals need Nurses like Sarah, who can make dark days just a little brighter.

Don't expect me to be the next Paula Radcliffe, finishing in one piece and before dark is what I'm aiming for.

I've done it!!!! I got round in 4 hours 5 minutes on one of the hottest ever London Marathons. The day was amazing, one of the best of my life depsite the intense pain. The crowds were amazing and they really kept me going.
