Story

UPDATE Well I did it - 43.5hours after diving into Lake Coniston I finally finished the Bob Graham outside the Moot Hall in Keswick. And what a feeling of relief it was too!

Huge huge thanks to everyone who supported me over the weekend, I wouldn't have completed the challenge without their help and encouragement.

And thankyou to all of you who have sponsored me and contributed to WaterAid. But it isn't over yet, there is still time to raise more money, so if you are visiting this site for the first time please give generously to support the work of WaterAid across the poorest parts of the world - every little amount makes a huge difference to some of the world's poorest and most deprived people.

Thanks again, it was some birthday party!

Hi there and thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Lakeland Triathlon Challenge.

This July, to celebrate my 40th birthday year, I will be attempting a triathlon with a difference, which as far as I know has never been attempted. And to make all the pain worthwhile I want to raise as much money as possible for my chosen charity, WaterAid.

The triathlon will start on Saturday 14th July morning with a 5.5 mile swim of the length of Lake Coniston. Then its on to the bike to ride the 114 mile route of the Fred Whitton bike race over all the major lakeland passes including Hardknott and Wrynose. The final run section, starting and finishing in Keswick, will follow the Bob Graham Round, a 72 mile fell run over 42 lakeland summits ascending the height of Everest. Each of these are major challenges in their own right, and I intend to link all three into a continuous endurance triathlon.

So, rather than send me a birthday card or buy me a pint please dig deep and sponsor me online to support the very worthy charity WaterAid.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks to all the family and friends who will be helping me along the way and thanks for your support.

Paul
