On July 26th I will be swimming from Alcatraz Prison in the middle of San Francisco bay to the shore. This is approximately a 1.5 mile swim, made longer by the currents and made more interesting by the sharks!! The water temp is approx 11 degrees C and the current can be up to 4.5 knots.
