Story
It has been a goal of mine for quite a few years now to complete the gruelling 26 miles 385 yards of the London Marathon, and on the second time of asking have been accepted.
I had known before deciding to run that I wanted to raise money for ‘The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation’. As a life long Newcastle supporter, Sir Bobby Robson has been a legend and the news of his death last year due to cancer was upsetting as it was to every Geordie and football supporter.
In the last 18 months of his life -after a glorious career in the football world- Sir Bobby set himself a new goal to battle against cancer through his own charity. Sir Bobby had suffered from Cancer an incredible 5 times with the disease eventually beating him in July 2009. The charity that Bobby set up before his death focuses on the early detection of cancer and treatment of cancer and the clinical trials of new drugs that will eventually beat the disease. Sir Bobby did not let the disease beat him, but instead put all his last efforts into helping people in the future.
I have, as I’m sure everyone who reads this will have known someone who has suffered from cancer at some stage in their lives and therefore want to raise money for a charity which I really believe can help to eradicate the disease in the future.
So please please help me to do this by sponsoring me to run around London on the 25th April exhausted and by all means come down and laugh at me while I try to do so! Whether it be a few quid or more please help me raise money for Sir Bobby’s charity, every little really does help! To do this please log onto my website below.
Thank you,
Paul
