A Squadron of my soldiers has just returned from Afghanistan and, fortunately, apart from one or two minor injuries, they all retrurned home safely.  However, not everyone serving on operations is so fortunate so my Regimental Sergeant Major and I are running in the London Marathon to raise money for the 'Help for Heroes' campaign. 

'Help for Heroes' has been established to provide direct help to our wounded servicemen and women and specifically to help provide urgently needed specialist facilities at the Armed Forces rehabilitation centre at Headley Court.  Headley Court offers a fantastic service to those on the road to recovery but it has never been in such demand and we are running the marathon on behalf of all of those who may never get the chance.
