Andy and I were touched at the sad loss of Paul last year and felt that we would like to raise money to donate to the people that were treating Paul - 'The Nottingham University Hospitals Charity - Brain Tumor Fund - code 0259'

Andy and I will be completing the Nottingham 'Experian Festival of Running' (used to be Robin Hood Marathon)

http://www.experianfestivalofrunning.co.uk/

We will be completing the full 26 miles on 13th September - feel free to come and support us

We now have 7 weeks to go and would love you to spread the word to ensure we get as many donations as possible

Here are a few words from Pauls sister Nikki:

Paul was one of the strongest people I knew.  If he put his mind to something - he would do it.  From joining the Navy, travelling the world, becoming qualified in civilian aircraft engineering courses in a ridiculously short amount of time, being a trusted colleague and friend, to meeting and marrying the woman of his dreams - if Paul put his mind to it, it would be achieved.  Paul was funny.  Side achingly funny.  You only had to meet him once to know this!

Paul was also a devoted family man.  Having Henry changed his outlook on so many things.  The once travel orientated, "no need for roots" Paul, changed, seemingly over night.  He had this little person depending on him and the decisions he made.  So he decided to put down roots and settle.  Not for second best but settle for the new best, healthy and happy.

When Henry was 12 weeks old, Paul was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  Our lives turned upside down.  But Paul was full of fight.  He was scared - no doubt about it, who wouldn't be?  But he rarely showed it.  Brain surgery went very well and things looked good.  In December 2008 however, Paul was told that what was left of the tumour had turned.  Turned terminal.  None of us knew before then about a "grade 4" tumour and what it meant.  We soon did - it meant that Paul had from between 6 months and 17 years to live.  Full of so much fight, so much determination and so much love, Paul died 2 weeks after the terminal diagnosis, on Boxing Day 2008.

If you can see your way to supporting two of Paul's work colleagues, who were so touched by his presence in their lives, to raise money in his memory and to help other families who find themselves in our situation, then we would be hugely grateful.  If not, then please remember a man who everyone has called the "most genuine guy I have ever known", my irreplaceable brother, mum and dad's mischievous son, Toni's loving husband, Henry's doting dad and loyal friend to many - Forever, right until the end - Paul Scully.

From Andy, Ady and all Pauls loved ones

Many Many thanks x
