Story
I’m not one for doing things by half so for my first charity challenge I have signed up to climb Mount Kilimanjaro June 2014 for a Manchester based award winning charity close to my heart called Moodswings.
I first encountered Moodswings about three years ago when I was seeking advise and help for my mum who suffers from bipolar disorder, my mum was on the verge of another relapse and I was frustrated with the lack of advise offered to me to understand and help more. I have witnessed my mum suffer relapses as I was growing up so this time we were definitely not giving up without a fight.
Not only have Moodswings helped my mum turn her life around giving her more confidence to tackle everyday challenges most individuals do with ease. They constantly help so many individuals suffering from mood disorders including much needed support for family and friends who are also affected, which I have benefited from greatly.
There are widespread problems with the social stigma, stereotypes, and prejudice against individuals with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. I want to increase awareness that his is a serious disorder and there is help out there with charities like Moodswings for individuals that need it.
All money donated by you will go straight to Moodswings, I am completely self funding this ultimate challenge to ensure they get all the help they need and deserve. Your money will be greatly appreciated in helping individuals (like my mum) from the North West and beyond. This will help turn their lives around and fight this horrible mood disorder that affects so many individuals.
If attempting to climb Mount Kilimanjaro isn’t enough I have set a mountainous target of £3000 so please be generous and donate now.
I hope this inspires others to give back, increase awareness of mood disorders like bipolar and most of all help Moodswings continue to do the amazing job they do.
Thank you from Peter, Karen (mum) and the Moodswings team.
So please dig deep and donate NOW, not tomorrow or some other time as you might forget.
