Story
Hi - Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
In August 2009 I will be setting off on my bike and riding from London to Glasgow to raise funds for Dreamflight, for those of you eagle eyed supporters you will notice I have had to put the date back. This is for many reasons, but mainly because my fitness is not where it should be and when I complete the ride I don't want it to kill me. I appreciate all of your support so far and long may it continue.
Dreamflight is a fantastic charity that was set up over twenty years ago and each year takes 192 terminally ill or seriously disabled children on a holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, Florida.
The children visit all the main theme parks and even have the chance to swim with dolphins. As I'm sure you can imagine this does not come cheaply and despite the fact that all the medical staff, flight and cabin crew and non medical escorts donate their time for free -it still costs £3,000 for each child to go on the Dreamflight.
My aim is to raise enough money for at least one child to make the trip to Orlando in October 2009. Any money you can give, no matter how small, can make a huge difference to these brave childrens lives.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dreamflight gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
As for my bike ride it will be split over 10 days and if you'd like more information please email pedallingforpounds@live.com or to keep up to date with my training and any news about my trip; read my blog at http://pedallingforpounds.blogspot.com/
So please, help me make a difference! Thanks for your support
