Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Some of you may have noticed we have revised our target. We have set what we believe is achievable. Please help us reach our goal for what we all believe is a very worthy cause. We have completed the challenge in just under 28 hours. We are all very tired and would like to thank you for your support.

How our three peaks unfolded (latest entry first):

30th June 9.45pm - arrived at our travel lodge and a celebration dinner at Little Chef.

30th June -  7pm - we've finished with a sprint finish - exact time to follow. Who has won the sweepstake with the £100 prize?

30th June - 5.01pm - Summit of Snowdon - covered in cloud but some good views on the way up.

30th June  - 2.50pm  - starting off on our last Mountain - Snowdon in Wales - everyone in good spirits and a bit awake for Scafell Pike.

30th June  - 9.13am Back at the van after our trip up Scafell Pike.

30th June - 6.50am - summit of Scafell Pike - perfect conditions and fantastic views.

30th June - 3.41am - off up Scafell Pike at dawn.

29th June 11.15pm. Jenni shows everyone what she thinks of georges cooking.

29th June 10pm- fed, watered, changed, loaded and off to Scafell Pike.

29th June 9.23pm - finished Ben Nevis.

29th June 6.24pm - Summit but covered in cloud.

29th June 3pm. We are finally off up Ben Nevis. A cool sunny afternoon and some fantastic views on the way up.

29th June 1pm - Yippee, the day has arrived - Bring it on!!!  Three mountains to go.

28th June 6.30pm - We have settled into our bunkhouse, which is very comfortable and are now ready for dinner. Next update won't be until late tomorrow morning. We are planning to start the challenge at 3pm on Tuesday 29th June - fingers crossed for a warm (not too hot) sunny day. Thank you all for your support and kind words of encouragement.

28th June around 5pm - Our first proper view of what is waiting for us tomorrow - Ben Nevis from Neptune's Staircase (see photo). The weather is now fantastic and it was lovely to get a clear view of "The Ben".

28th June around 4pm - Glen Coe (see photo). This photo was taken by Vincent. Vincent had climbed the mountain in the photo 60 years ago whilst in the armed forces. He gave us our first donation whilst out on our challenge and made quite an impresion on the ladies.

28th June 1.30pm - First stop in Scotland - it's raining! Only 120 miles to Fort William. Jenni has been bitten - no one in the bus is admitting to it!

28th June 11.15am. Elevensies near Carisle. All going well so far!

28th June 6.15am We're on our way! We left Sevenoaks at 5am and made our way round to Leatherhead to pick up Andy and Sarah. We've just joined the M40 with only 500 miles to Fort William.

More updates later!

Our three peak challenge cannot compare to the challenges faced by extraordinarily brave Servicemen and women injured in the line of duty in current conflicts in Iraq and Afganistan.  However, we hope that by taking on the three peaks we will be able to raise some much needed funds in support of the tremendous charity work Help for Heroes carries out.  Help for Heroes is a charity which provides direct practical support to wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.  They are strictly non political and non critical; they simply want to help.

This is our way of showing our support to the armed forces and their families and the sponsorship you are providing will spur us on in our fitness campaign over the coming months and really help to motivate us on the 3 Peaks - the alternative, if we are not fit enough, is that Andy will make the girls cry!

We are also undertaking other fundraising activities over the coming months such as a Christmas shopping event, cinema nights, cocktails event and quiz nights.  Please contact one of the team for details.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - We raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks!
