Between 13
th and 29th October this year I will be taking part in a trek through for The St. Luke’s Cancer fund and Guildford Undetected Tumour Screening (G.U.T.S).
The goal of the trek is to raise at least £3,000 per participant that will be split equally between St. Luke’s and G.U.T.S.
We will start the trek at a place called Besisar, around 7 hours from . From here we will spend the next 14 days walking between 5 and 12 hours a day to reach our goal at Jomsom. We’ll be camping out each night in the mountains before carrying on each day to the next checkpoint. The trek is designed to be challenging, taking us to altitudes of over 5,400m (17,700ft) which is 50m above the height of Mt. Everest Base Camp and then descending back down to 2,800m (9,180ft).
On a personal note, I started training for this in May 2010. I am trying to walk 10,000 paces a day and I am currently on target for this. Both charities do great work and are deserving of our help. I have now walked 900,000 paces. My target is 1 million paces.
I have already raised the required £3,000. Any amount over this will boost the Charity. Anything that you can give will be greatly received and appreciated. .
Thank you
Peter
