Story
Hi Everyone!
07 Feb update: Thanks so much for your generous support so far. The response has been fantastic, so I'm increasing my target to £3,000, please continue to sponsor me so we can raise as much as possible for the CF Trust, every penny is really appreciated! Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my fundraising page! I have decided to run in the London Marathon on the 13th April 2008 for a very worthwhile cause, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
I have a personal connection to the fundraising efforts of the CF Trust as the niece of one of my best friends suffers from this terrible condition. Cystic Fibrosis is the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease, whereby a single faulty gene, which controls the movement of salts through the body, causes the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system to become clogged, resulting in infections and inflammation making it hard to breathe and digest food. Each week 5 babies are born with CF and sadly each week 3 young lives are lost to the disease. Average life expectancy for CF sufferers is just 31 years.
So I hope you can please dig deep and support this worthy charity bringing the appropriate care and support to people with CF and their families, whilst also funding research into treatment and hopefully a cure.
As part of my training I will be running in the Tunbridge Wells and Hastings Half Marathons, in February and March, so I will keep you posted on my progress.
Donating through justgiving is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks so much for your time and your support.
