This will be the fifth year I've done the Great North Run for Ashgate Hospice. The Hospice plays a vital role in the community caring for people with terminal illness and supporting their families. I can speak from personal experience of just how good the team at the hospice are as they cared for my Dad in his final days - they are truly special people.

It costs Ashgate Hospice £4 million a year to provide these valuable services, of which £2.3 million needs to be raised purely through voluntary contributions and fundraising.

Without your help, Ashgate Hospice would simply not be able continue providing its vital services to local people so please give what you can.
