Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My team and I are all walking 100km (that's over 2 marathons) along the South Downs Way, together, in under 30 hours (that's non-stop), to raise money for Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
Here's a map of our route: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=z6AITdVvGKMA.kde2kU6lgRjU
Why are we doing this...? Because it's going to be an absolutely unforgettable adventure that will help a lot of people in need, many of whom were prepared to risk their life for the freedoms we have today.
The Gurkhas are celebrating 200 years as part of the British Army this year. Many elderly Gurkha soldiers do not qualify for an army pension, despite serving in the Second World War. The Gurkha Welfare Trust supports 7,800 Gurkha's and their widows who are living in destitution in Nepal, and supports the welfare needs of those choosing to retire in the UK. Oxfam works in over 90 countries, fighting poverty by responding to emergencies through development projects and campaigns. To find out more, visit: www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker.
