About our charity : Butterwick Hospice Care Butterwick Hospice Care
Butterwick Hospice Care aims to improve the quality of life for those who have a progressive life limiting illness and those close to them. To offer positive support for every challenge they may encounter during their illness and to see death as part of life's journey. A life limiting illness changes everything, moves all the parameters in your life and the lives of those around you. Butterwick Hospice Care intends to be there for those in this situation and to listen, guide and support the patients and their family. Adult patients are cared for at facilities based in Stockton and Bishop Auckland. Butterwick House Children's Hospice, also located in Stockton, was the first of its kind in the North East and is still the only one accepting children from birth to 19 and providing end of life care. Admissions are made from Teesside, North Yorkshire, County Durham and Wearside.

Our personal message:

I'm certainly not built for long distance running or anywhere near fit enough to complete 13.5 miles worth of what can only be considered torture (getting there slowly but surely though!!).

On a serious note the real motivation is to raise money for the Butterwick Hospice which is a charity close to my heart having looked after my Father 10 yrs ago & close friend at the turn of 2008, throughout their final hours.

All donations would obviously be much appreciated; I'm off to pound the streets!! Phil....
