Event: Hartley Wintney to Paris Bike Ride 2010, on 2 September 2010

Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

I have decided to support this fund-raising effort in the least obvious way for me. In September I am planning to cycle 200 miles from Hartley Wintney to Paris to raise money for a new hall for my village.  All of you who know me, know I am usually a spectator of sports rather than choosing to partake.  I haven't really cycled anywhere since going to college (some years back now) and now I am aiming to cycle to work twice a week in an attempt to get fit for the challenge.

Our village are trying to raise £2.6M in a variety of fundraising events to create a range of new facilities for the young to the old in our community. We desperately need a new hall as the current one is not even safe for the children to play in.

Please help me to get fit and raise money for something worthwhile.

About the charity

St John's Church is the parish church in the Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney. In April 2012, the church commenced the building of a new £2.3m Church Centre, which, when completed in June 2013, will provide new facilities for our church and wider community. Please help us to raise the final 20%.
