Story

Thank you for visiting the National Plughole Week fundraising page.

WE RAISED £22,000 FOR OXFAM!!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT!

What is National Plughole Week? - National Plughole week was founded in 2007 to raise awareness of developing countries poor sanitation.  Working with Oxfam, Buster the plughole care brand has been raising money to help fund Oxfam’s life saving work. Where you money goes – Oxfam will be using your valuable life saving donations to provide water filtration buckets.

2010 National Plughole was bigger than ever!

In April NPW  launched its Bottle for Change campaign. This campaign was a very simple concept, you simply request a bottle or bottles or water, we send them to you, you enjoy a refreshing mineral water drink, then you help us fundraise by refilling the bottle with 1p’s, 5p’s and 20p’s. Your donation can be banked at any Lloyds bank or send us a cheque direct to us or make an online payment.

A little change goes a long way.

1p coins only = clean water for 2 families, 5p coins only = clean water for 18 families, 20p coins only = clean water for 62 families

Alton Water Fun Run – NPW will be at the Alton water Fun Run in Holbrook on Sunday 9th May 2010.

Buster donated 5p for every product sold in June and July. Buster is available in all major retailers and hardware stores. So by purchasing Buster you will be helping to raise vital life saving funds.

Through this site you can help raise further funds for Oxfam’s vital work in improving santiation systems in developing countries. For example a donation of £9 could provide safe water for 12 people, and just £2.50 could buy a life saving filtration bucket that will keep a family’s water clean and safe to drink.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Oxfam gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

PLEASE DONATE NOW!

Once you have donated, please send us an email npw@nationalplugholeweek.com so we can register your details and your donation amount, NPW, Oxfam, Buster and Dyno Rod would like to personally thank everybody for their help in raising these life saving funds.

National Plughole Week History -

In 2009 Buster raised £10,500 through an on pack promotion all the national retailers, this helped save the lives of 8750 families. Buster will be repeating this again in June and July.

For 2010 Dyno Rod has joined Buster to help raise further awareness of the poor sanitation in these developing countries.

Where you money goes – Oxfam will be using your valuable life saving donations to provide water filtration buckets. These buckets are used for carrying and filtering dirty water into clean and safe drinking water. These lifesaving buckets have been amended in design to allow these to be carried on people’s heads. Each a single bucket can save the life of a whole family.  These life saving filtration buckets are also supplied in an emergency, this humble bucket can become a lifeline. Going beyond the pail, these buckets are hygienic and secure – vital for carrying and storing clean water for drinking and washing and helping prevent the spread of disease.
