John & Dave (The Manc Entrepreneur) have been friends for many years after meeting through work and in recent months have been working together on various projects.

This challenge came about apparently due to Dave's inability to say NO.

Back in December Dave mentioned in one of his YouTube videos that in 2018 he wanted to do something for charity.

This is where John planted the seed of a charity bike ride, to which Dave said yes without much thought or hesitation.

Since then John also recruited Iain and Chris to take on the challenge and to make this an epic challenge of 4 men and their bikes vs Portugal

The Reality

Dave then remembered he hadn't ridden a bike in over 2 years and John broke the news that the charity bike ride, was across the whole width of Portugal which is 228km (142 miles) in just 3 days.

At first this sounded insane but then a firm believer that good things happened outside the comfort zone and having a challenge to aim for would be great motivation to get in better shape Dave was grateful for the opportunity.

The challenge is only 2 months away at the time of riding, and after Dave's first training day at the gym, 6 hours later he could barely walk.

This is going to be a challenge, and hopefully one worthwhile for you to donate a few quid to a great cause.

Why Crohn's & Colitis UK?

Crohn's & Colitis UK is a charity close to Dave's heart.  A couple of years ago he saw how brutal Crohn's can be when one of his closest friends was hospitalised for weeks due to Crohn's disease.

John & Dave will go through a few months of discomfort to prepare for this and then a few days for the challenge itself, however those with Crohn's and Colitis have to cope with this for a lifetime...or until we help find a cure.

On this page you can see we have joined the #GYBO team.  Get Your Belly Out is a campaign started to raise awareness for Crohn's & Colitis and has been incredibly successful since their conception is 2014.

By teaming up with them we are bringing more awareness not only to this challenge but also to a wider initiative to raise awareness.
