Mind- and all the people who volunteer and work for them- is a wonderful organisation that helps people with mental health problems and nothing screams "motivation" like the knowledge of helping to stop the suffering of others. That said, I've decided to lose as much weight as is healthily possible by August 10th (my sister's wedding) in exchange for a donation to Mind.

All you wonderful people, who will hopefully give a couple of quid- ideally £1 for a lb- will not only motivate me to reach my goal, but the thousands of people in the UK who struggle with their mental health every single day.

For these people, it's not just a day of them feeling mardy or wallowing in self-pity. It's psychosis. It's schizophrenia. It's an eating disorder. It's depression. 

And one in four of us will suffer with it in our lifetime.

 

And for those who don't care much about the suffering of others:

If that doesn't spur you on to root around the back of your couches for pennies; think about it- you get to poke fun at a little fatty and help others at the same time. On top of all that, a couple of quid is nothing when you think that keeping me healthy will keep me out of the hospitals and away from your tax money- why, it's practically an investment!
