FLASH UPDATE:

20 TCS runners accomplished a piece of glory and history by competing and successfully completing the 10K British run on Sunday, 6th July 2008. This was a tremendous result for a team which hardly shared any running credentials.

However, there was a larger mission which led them forward and they forged ahead on the back of the TATA Values of "Giving back to the community". A strong team spirit was in view, with each runner helping everyone else go on and complete this difficult challenge inspite of the windy and rainy conditions.

Tired and aching limbs there are ... but greater is the spirit of accomplishment...and the sense of satisfaction for having completed a personal challenge on behalf of deserving children whose futures are now brighter.

The target of running has been achieved - now we all need your help to accomplish the other target i.e. Raising the sponsorship for 1000 kids to study for 1 year. We are close to it...but will need your help to overhaul this target.

This year 20 associates of TCS UK are running for 10 K as part of ‘The Great British 10 K Run’.

We know you must be thinking that there is still a way to go for us in terms of catching up with the marathon achievements of our COO.

We are doing this run to support a charity. Pratham works for educating underprivileged children in India. £7 is all it takes to educate one child for a year. Last year we raised about £ 3000 and hence had the satisfaction of sponsoring some 400 children.

This year we are aiming to educate 1000 children and need everyone to support the cause wholeheartedly.

We all have spent enough afternoon lunches and evening drinks on pondering over how ‘education’ underpins development. Here is the chance to walk the talk.
