We help young people to overcome their barriers and find work

Story

We are a team of young people, under the Princes Trust Team Program, that are aiming to help raise awareness for the local charity called Harmless. Harmless is a charity that helps support both people who are suffering from self harm and suicidal thoughts as well as family and friends who have experienced with someone who is suicidal and self harming. We have chosen Harmless because we feel that suicide and self harm isn't talked about enough. We want to help raise awareness to it by doing a short film as well as other projects for the charity. Many people in the local area and the country suffer from self harm and suicidal thoughts, its a topic that is not nice to talk about but needs to be talked about so these people know that help is out there and to not be afraid to talk about it with someone.

The Princes Trust Team Program gives young people the opportunity to do things like this, helping charities, gaining new skills and preparing us for the future and giving something back to the community

About the charity

IAF helps disadvantaged young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) overcome barriers, find their motivation, and progress into employment or education. Our youth workers use a combination of outreach, mentoring and training to affect positive change in young people’s lives.
