Most of you will know that my now young man had a rocky start to life and for a while we weren’t sure if he would make it. With thanks to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) he is now a healthy and thriving young adult.

It has been exactly 13 years since Priyan received treatment at the hospital - almost to the day - he received chemo and had surgery in November 2008. Those memories never go away. You feel them in your bones and in your heart, and not a day goes by where I am not grateful for the medical care and support GOSH provided, and continue to provide to this day. 

To show my gratitude I am taking part in the “500,000 steps in November” challenge to raise awareness and funds for GOSH.  

After having Covid in March 2020 I struggled to get back into a fitness routine. Coupled with other life events I found I did not have the energy or the stamina but now I feel that I’m finally at a place where I’m ready to push myself to do this with the good cause providing the extra motivation needed. Working from home and sat at a desk five days a week will make this difficult but I plan to do as many steps as I can during the weekdays and make up for it by going for longer walks and gentle runs at the weekends. I’ll keep you posted on progress along the way! 

I know times are hard, however if you feel able to support the cause and provide the much needed motivation I need to complete this challenge then I would be most grateful for any donations, or if you want to share my donation page with your contacts. I would even welcome just messages of support and motivation to keep me going as the nights get darker! Any help, whether financial or otherwise, would be massively appreciated! Wish me luck 😁 

Late 2008…

Thanks for visiting Priyan's fundraising page. We are overwhelmed by the generousity of our family & friends who have helped Priyan to exceed his target of raising £10,000 for the Oncology Unit (Lion Ward) at Great Ormond Street Hospital.  They saved his life following the discovery of a rapidly growing tumour in his abdoman.  Priyan has a lot to thank them for and wants to help other children suffering with cancer.  We will not stop here and are continuing to raise funds so please continue to donate here!
