Professional Advantage are raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital through 2011. 3 teams comprising members of PA and friends will be competing in the Virgin London Triathlon on 30th July at the ExCel Royal Victoria Dock. Each team will include a runner (10km), swimmer (1500m) and a cyclist (40km). Help keep the magic alive by donating now. Within PA, we have had personal experience of the amazing nursing and care a child can receive. Benjamin Noble was treated at Great Ormond Street as a toddler, post meningitis when he lost his hearing. Now 11, he has had a cochlear implant at the Hospital, who lead the way in the UK at such operations. The cost for the first year alone for one child is £30k and we know of other children who are still on the waiting list. The operation will give Benjamin the closest chance of being able to hear again. The hospital needs £50m a year to continue their programme of much needed redevelopment as well as buying replacement equipement. Part of their plans is to build new parent accommdation so that families can stay with their children whilst they are in hospital, rather than sleeping in a hard chair at the bedside!
