Story

Anna, Kate & Sarah - HAVE JUST COMPLETED !!!!

The North Pennines AONB Pub to Pub Challenge - sponsored by The Crown at Catton.

Anna, Kate & Sarah are embarking on a challenge.  The 3 of us aim to cover the North Pennines from Tan Hill Inn, Skelmerdale, North Yorkshire to The Crown at Catton, Northumberland which is around 80 miles!

The challenge will start on Tuesday 27th July and finish on Sunday 1st August.  We will be covering between 10 and 15 miles per day crossing the North Pennines AONB.  We will be carrying all our own gear - no backup car for us!  We will be staying in B & B's and Youth Hostels along the way.  And of course enjoying a well earned pint each night.

Our Story

After learning that her step father had an inoperable brain tumour Anna was talking to Kate over a pint at The Crown, Catton.  After a few more ales the idea was born to do a fundraising hike across the North Pennines AONB for the charity Brain Tumour UK.  Kate got in touch with her friend Sarah from Derbyshire, whose mother had died only the previous month of a brain tumour, and Sarah was instantly enlisted!  If you are able to sponsor us please donate, it doesn't matter how small.  Thanks

Our Route

Day One - Tan Hill Inn (North Yorks) to Baldersdale
