Hello all (again)!
So we got through the Marathon!! It was one of the hottest days of the year in Scotland, and despite Amanda not having run for a month before due to her knee we made it across the finish line together in 4hr 23mins, which we were pleased with considering the heat.
But no rest for the wicked (or slightly stupid)... on the 9th August we are undertaking the mammoth cycle journey of John O Groats to Lands End. It's around 1000 miles in 12 and a half days so we'll be averaging about 75 miles a day. Training has been short but good so far. We had a nice run to Oxford and back the other weekend and it really gave us a lot of confidence for what lies ahead.
We're doing this once again for Breast Cancer Care, and would be so incredibly grateful for even the smallest of donations... It all helps. We are doing all of this with all energies we have for Mand's dear cousin, who is bravely tackling breast cancer; It came out of the blue, and it has hit home hard the reality of this horrific disease. All we can do is invest in charities such as these, and hope and pray that the research and efforts undertaken will help others in the long-term.
Thank you so much for your support, it is HUGELY appreciated :)
Amanda and Rich
