Reading Half Marathon 2011 · 20 March 2011 ·

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

We have never run 100 metres before, let alone 13.1 miles (George and Ollie, that is...). We've decided to run the Reading Half Marathon in order to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital, a charity that has greatly helped one of our friends over the last 18 years.

He requires an operation in America costing £50,000 and although £1,000 won't be enough to cover the cost of the operation, it will go a long way towards it.

If we survive the Reading Half Marathon, we intend to also run the Basingstoke Half Marathon in October.
