Story
For anybody who doesn't know (and for complete strangers who may have just happened upon this page by chance), my mother passed away on January 30th 2017 after suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for about 20 years. She was only 49 years old, which isn't actually old.
When I was a lot younger I'd always say how much I wanted to jump out of a plane one day, and without fail my mother would reply with "Over my dead body".
So, I told her I'd skydive into her funeral James Bond-style so I could, quite literally, jump out of a plane over her dead body. Anyway, the obvious thing to do in her memory would be to jump out of a plane. Clearly that hasn't happened because I would enjoy it way too much. And you're not supposed to sponsor someone to do something they ENJOY. That's not the point.
So instead I've signed up to run Cardiff half marathon in October.
I did previously attempt to run the Bristol Half in 2014 and loathed EVERY SECOND OF THAT GOD FORSAKEN RACE. An 80-something year old called Jack overtook me about 3 miles from the finish line, and my finishing time is too embarrassing to even admit to.
And for anyone who knew me circa 2004, I have one word for you: hurdles.
So it's safe to say, you'll be sponsoring me to go through at least 2 and a half hours of Hell on Earth. Any and all donations would be more than appreciated, no matter how big or small.
Multiple Sclerosis is truly a horrific disease, and I don't want anybody to have to watch someone they love go through what my mother went through in the last years of her life.
