We build electric eco-fences in Africa to protect Africa's threatened ecosystems

Story

Thank you for visiting Car 38's Rhino Ark Fundraising page. Donating through this site is fast and secure and is the best way to support our fundraising efforts. If you are a UK tax payer 28% will be added to the value of your donation at no extra cost to yourselves which is a real bonus!

2010 will be our 15th consecutive event. Despite our best efforts and many very close misses we have yet to win this great event. Last year we extensively modified the car which left us with many last minute teething problems and so we were glad to finish 6th.

In 2009 we were 4th highest fundraisers with over 2.8 million Kenya Shillings (£24,000). The event itself raised over 1 million US dollars. The 400 kilometer fence is now finally complete but we now need to build up an 8 million US dollar trust fund so that the fence can be maintained indefinitely

Please help us in supporting the goals of this fantastic charity which are so important to Kenya, its people and its wildlife. The Aberdares is a magical place that we are all very fond of-please dig deep and help us to preserve it! Many thanks-Sean, Kieran, Kuki, Patrick, Harry and KJ.

Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu. These provide an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo as well as protecting vital upland watertables of Kenya
