This year's charidee mission, should I choose to accept it, is to climb each of the highest peaks in Scotland, England
and Wales within a 24-hour period on 29-30 May... the so-called Three Peaks
Challenge.
This year I'm doing it for Medecins sans Frontieres (Doctors without Borders),
who do an amazing job providing emergency medical care to people caught
up in conflicts and natural disasters. You can read more about them at
www.msf.org.uk. They're active in Haiti at the moment, so supporting me
on the Three Peaks means supporting their efforts there, and at dozens
more places in Africa, Asia and South America.
About the
Three Peaks... the aim is to climb all three in 24 hours -
that means:
5 hours to get up and down Ben Nevis (10am-3pm)
7 hours driving from Fort William to the Lake District (3pm-10pm)
4 hours to get up and down Scafell Pike (10pm-2am)
5 hours driving from the Lake District to Snowdonia (2am-7am)
3 hours to get up and down Snowdon. (7-10am)
And whether it's freezing or windy or raining or snowing, and no matter how knackered I am, I'll still have to do it... so come on - sponsor me, or I'll know you don't care.
lots of love
Richard xx
