We're doing the Three Peaks Challenge in May 2008 and I'd like you to sponsor us!

We did it! Everyone managed every peak, and all those who did it last year managed a better time this year. The free disco wasn't bad either. A resounding success on all fronts.

Massive shout out: many thanks, once again, to all the staff at Burnt Tree Vehicle Solutions for their flexibility and great value-for-money in providing us with a transport solution. In particular my heartfelt thanks go out to Roger Bird at the Sheffield branch who has never let us down.
Why am I doing this? When I was younger the Sheffield Children's Hospital cared for me and, more recently, they also cared for my son, Stan.
We successfully completed the challenge in 2007, so a bunch of us are going to do it again in May 2008 (Faster, Better, Environmentally-Friendlier). I'll do the organisation - all I want you to do is to put your hand in your pocket and give a little donation to this very worthwhile cause.
And don't be a cheapskate - I know about the money you've got hidden away, beyond the wit of any thief, in an old sock under the squeaky floorboard behind the kitchen dresser - so please dig deep.
Many thanks for your support,
Rich.

The Three Peaks Challenge
So what is the Three Peaks Challenge?
Quite simple really: climb the highest three peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in one day.
Which means over 450 miles of driving, 10,000 feet of vertical ascent, 25 miles of trekking, plus all the other things in between (like eating, sleeping, etc.) in 24 hours.
The peaks are (in the order we will attempt them):
Ben Nevis (1,344m)
Scafell Pike (978m)
Snowdon (1,085m)
Fix The Fells
We intend to give 10% of the sponsorship money to www.fixthefells.co.uk - this organisation relies on charitable donations to maintain and repair all of the footpaths in our many National Parks.
