Story
For those of you that are surprised by this apparent madness yes it is me and yes I really did 'run' the London Marathon 2009!
Sunday the 26th April 2009 turned out to be a wonderfully sunny day, enjoyed by the many thousands of spectators around the course. Honestly I do not recall ever feeling such envy as that felt when I passed a pub at about mile 14 to see someone holding a pint of cold cider!
Anyway after 4hours and 55 minutes I got across the finishing line, pleased to have achieved something that a year ago was difficult to believe I could complete and that two years ago I wouldn't have even considered. So while I dont like cliches - it's true, 'nothing is impossible!'
It was a stunning day, a real adventure into the unknown, which I have passed through, wonderfully supported by my wife Lisa, my girls Loren and Annabel and many good friends. Without their support the training runs, preparation and believe it just wouldn't have been possible.
Clearly I am hugely in debt to the many people that have donated their hard earned cash to such a deserving cause, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I can assure you that United Response are so grateful to you for supporting them.
If you missed out sponsoring me before the event, fear not you can still make a donation, however big or small your donation it will really help to meet the fund rasing target .
