The five of us have decided its time to give something back before we are too old .....
Therefore, we have challenged ourselves to cycle the length of Britain from John O’Groats to Lands End in 9 days, covering 1,008 miles from the 12-20 June 2010. This means that we will spend over 8 hrs in the saddle everyday cycling more than 110 miles per day!!
It is the first ever mass Lands End to John 'O' Groats Cycle event, with 500 people taking part. It is been headed up by Double Olympic Gold medallist and TV personality James Cracknell who attempted to break the lands End v John 'o' Groats World Record to raise awareness of the event.
The event is been followed by The Telegraph who have already featured the event and where James has a weekly column.
Our team will be setting up a website featuring all the sponsors and containing a Daily Blog, along with a Twitter and Facebook page
You can get more information about this inaugural event by visiting www.rideacrossbritain.com.
More important than our aching limbs, swollen joints and saddle sores is the charity that we will be raising money for - WellChild (http://www.wellchild.org.uk/). WellChild helps sick children and their families across the UK to overcome the challenges that they face on a daily basis due to complex medical issues.
As a team we have set ourselves the challenging goal of raising £25,000 to buy three new ventilators to help these extremely sick children. In order to reach this ambitious target we are going to need your help and generous donations.
With your help and support the pain will seem all the worthwile.
Thank you
Parminder, Andi, Paul, Mark and Nick
