THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT TO DATE! IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO KEEP GIVING.
Lennox Children's Cancer fund is a grass roots charity offering support to families who are going through terrible times. We'd like your support to raise $10,000/ £5,000 /r €7,500 for this worthy cause.
3 Americans, 2 Irishmen, 2 Germans, an Italian, a Dutchman, two Frenchman, 3 Brits and a italian/Chinese/Liverpudlian are going to cycle over the toughest mountains of the Pyrennees. We're a group of like-minded Level (3) people (generously supported by www.Adaptplc.com for our cycling jerseys). We're on our own (not part of an organised event), sleeping wherever we reach each day (nothing is booked) and covering 6 of the meanest, highest climbs that have ever featured over the years in the Tour de France. These climbs are so tough the Tour doesn't have all of them in any one year.
Our training regime has been strictly organic all of us having been passed 'clean' by the IOC. Our standard of fitness of our group varies greatly. From short, fat and unfit - tall, fat and unfit - short and very fit - tall and very fit….and many in between. Most of us will tip the scales above 90 kilos/210 pounds/14stones and so this will be a monumental effort.
Maybe it was too tough for Lance and the gang but not for our motley crew.Following hours of high altitude training in suburban London, Paris and across the Netherlands we are ready to do what the Pro's couldn't manage. We're meeting in Biarittz on 10th September and heading into the high Pyrennes exiting Toulouse on 14th September via the Col d'Marie Blancque, Col d'Obisque Co de Tourmalet, Col d'Aaspin, Col de Peyresourde, Portet d'aspet and host more of knee burning 'cols'.
The scenerey is beautiful, the food and wine will be fantastic, it will be a huge physical challenge and we hope to raise a bunch of money for this good cause. This is where we're asking for your support.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor our team: The Lennox Children's Cancer Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please sponsor the team it will take you less than two minutes. We promise to send you the url of the youtube/flikr coverage of the event so you can have a good laugh watching us suffer
Thanks for helping
