Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
In a fit of insanity, brought on by the short days and long dark nights of winter, the ladies of Ridgeway decided that signing up for the Oxfam Trailwalker was a thoroughly sensible idea. Slowly, as time passed, they came to realise quite what they had done.
Never girls to shirk a challenge, they have stuck with their decision. Boots on (for some, this was an excuse to go shoe shopping), laces tied and ordnance survey maps clasped in their hands, the training began, week in and week out. The end goal - 100km across the South Downs in July. Trekking through the day and through the night. But over and above it all, the words of Philip Marsden echo in our minds - "Don't even think about raising a penny less than £10,000". How's that for a motivational speech? Philip, of course, gave us an added incentive in the shape of a personal contribution of £5,000 once we raised £10,000.
We always like to exceed expectations and are aiming to raise in excess of £20,000. We're still a long way off as you can see, so every single donation really is important - not just to us, but also to the Gurkha Welfare Trust and to Oxfam.
Please help us reach our target. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Oxfam Trailwalker will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
