Stuart Lloyd
Riding Home For Heroes
Fundraising for Combat Stress
Alan Lloyd lost his battle against cancer in 2007 on his 65th Birthday. In his honour a small group of cyclists made the ride from the ground of his beloved football club, Brentford FC, back home to Cirencester FC where he was Groundskeeper. The 95-mile ride has been repeated over the last two years and in total has raised over £34,000 for Cancer Research UK.
In 2008 there were 14 riders and in 2009 this rose to over 30 cyclists – we look to have even more joining us for the ride in 2010 starting on Friday May 14th in Epsom, arriving back home in Cirencester on Saturday May 15th. This year the ‘Ride Home for Charity’ will be for a different but just as worthy cause - Combat Stress - the leading charity specialising in the care of British Veterans who have been profoundly traumatised by harrowing experiences during their service career. We are extremely grateful to those who are taking part and we thank all in anticipation for their support on the day and donations to such a worthy cause. The 'Ride Home For Heroes' will be over two days and over 100 miles. Wish us all luck and thanks for your donations! Best wishes, Stuart and Alan Lloyd and Andy James.* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
