Hi above is a photograph of my mum,she is on the beach in North Wales sometime in the 1960's. She was always fun to be with on those hot summer days. She is the reason I have set this page up and specifically so that I can thank the Hospice for looking after her during the last few weeks when we could no longer care for her.
Mum died of Mesothelioma, an asbestos related disease, which prematurely cut short her life. The care she received and the support we were given at the Hospice was brilliant so I have decided to try and raise some funds for them.
So on the 18th of July I am undertaking a 108 mile bike ride called the Etape. This ride takes place in the Pyrenees and is a stage of the Tour de France -but for amateur riders. If you want to know more you can visit this site and get all the(scary) details.

So far I have shaved my legs -painless and pointless-I am certainly not going any faster but at least it got my picture in the paper....but mostly I have spent my time riding the bike and wondering if I will be one of the 2000 who fail to complete every year. At the least the hospice will benefit and I might get a bit fitter!
