I decided it was long since time that I did something to help the men and women who come back home from active service seriously wounded. It is easy for us to forget that, whilst we live our safe and comfortable lives at home, there are thousands of our countrymen far away from home, friends and family, doing a job that is often poorly-reported and not as valued as it should be in some quarters - but it is a job they are doing for us. There is no doubt that they are living up to and exceeding the legendary standards set by Britain's armed forces. For some, being wounded whilst abroad can have life-changing consequences. For those people, Help for Heroes is there to help - and they rely on you and I to do things to raise money.
