Story
No, your eyes aren't playing tricks on you - yes, I am running the marathon....!
Please sponsor me for what will be the toughest challenge I have ever undertaken.
I am running the Flora London Marathon in support of the RNLI and the fabulous work they carry out.
Each '£' you donate will go towards training those brave volunteers who, each year, save 100's of lives at sea. It costs over £1000 a year per crewmember to keep them trained and ready for action.
RNLI volunteers across the UK and Republic of Ireland are united by a willingness to commit time and energy to a cause about which they are passionate. It is because so many crew members, shore helpers, fundraisers and others are volunteers that such a high proportion of funds can be spent on first-class lifeboats and equipment.
Lifeboat crew come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common: they selflessly make time in their own lives to save others.
To me, running is something you have to do when trying to catch the last tube home, so this is a huge challenge, but one I am really looking forward to!!!
Your support would be greatly appreciated and thank-you very much...
Rob.
