Raising money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of blind and partially sighted people never leave home alone. Guide Dogs empowers visually impaired people to do that and relies totally on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service. We breed and train guide dogs which provide life changing mobility and there are currently 4,500 working guide dog partnerships in the UK. The full lifetime cost of a guide dog from birth to retirement is £48,500. We will not rest until blind and partially sighted people can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else. I did it!

Not as fast as I had hoped and I will admit that the heat, water shortage and, to be honest, under-prepared legs reduced me to a walk at times.

Still I did manage to pick things up over the last mile and sprinted to a time of 4:58:13

I know the difference that a Guide Dog can make to a blind person's independence and I would like to do my small part to support their fundraising effort.
