I've decided to take the plunge and run the TCS Amsterdam Marathon on October 18th to raise money for Worldwide Cancer Research.
We've all been affected by cancer on some level, whether it has affected our family, friends, colleagues, teachers or anyone else we may know. It's a global issue that also strikes close to home for myself, and certain people close to me. So I've chose to support Worldwide Cancer Research, a charity that operates 24/7 to fund the research into any type of cancer, anywhere in the world.
WCR relies on donations to fund ambitious research projects, aided by hardworking and committed scientific advisors. Too many commendable and potentially groundbreaking projects miss out on funding because of WCR not having the available funds. These innovative research projects are the only thing that can make a real difference in the fight against cancer. But they require a significant amount of work and resources to take place, which all costs money.
I would be so grateful for any help you could give. Any amount makes a difference.
Training starts today so I best be off. Having not done any real structured form of exercise for several years I am preparing for a summer of pain and suffering as I try and resurrect the lean figure I used to have in the year 9 cross country team... I haven't really run at all since then, but we'll see how this goes. Wish me luck!
Many thanks for your support,
Rob xoxo
