Rochdale Underwater Hockey Team

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is a long established charity and the charity behind Childline, in addition they provide guidance and training to many other people involved in the protection of children.

 Oulder Hill are organising a Swimathon from the 1^st April to the 9^th July.  The idea being that the individual/group or club set themselves a target to complete in that period.  In the past the Club has successfully swum the channel in a single evening (that is 1400 lengths), this time we have 10 weeks to get to our final goal.

 This time we would like to visit Dublin by crossing the Irish Sea, 74 miles away from Holyhead.  That is a total of 4750 lengths of the pool.  As a Club we already swim approximately 240 lengths per week as a minimum, our intention is to keep training and on Thursday 7^th July to have a big swim and complete the remaining distance.

Helen and Mick are also taking part in the Great North Swim in Windermere on the 18^th of June. One mile in the lake, without fins!!  They are doing a lot of training and that distance will also count towards the overall total.
