Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2008 my friend, Katie, was the victim of a vicious acid attack which destroyed her face, her career and life as she knew it.
Last year she bravely decided to give up her anonymity to raise awareness about burns victims, and shared her story in a Channel 4 documentary: Katie My Beautiful Face. The programme and surrounding publicity resulted in an overwhelming response from the public both in the UK and abroad. Katie was inundated with messages from people offering support, but also many who wanted to share their experiences and ask her for help and advice.
As a result, Katie decided to set up the Katie Piper Foundation to help other burns victims like herself and I was incredibly privileged to be invited to join her as a founding trustee. Nothing has ever made me more proud.
It's early days, and the site is still in the process of being developed, but you can read more about Katie and the charity's aims here: http://www.katiepiperfoundation.org.uk
We have huge ambitions, but I know that with Katie at the helm we will undoubtedly get there. So please dig deep and donate now - as a trustee I can guarantee that every penny will be wisely spent!
Thank you. Ros xx
