The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to visit my humble little fundraising page.

I'm running (!) the Loch Ness 10k again this year and as you might have noticed I'm trying to raise much needed funds for Guide Dogs. If you want to know more about Guide Dogs please visit their website at Guidedogs.org.uk. Did you know that £60.00 will buy a harness, handle, lead, collar and bell. £100.00 provides four long canes. £250.00 will feed a guide dog for a year and it costs £1,000.00 just for the basic training of a guide dog.  Guide Dogs receives no government funding and is entirely dependant on voluntary contributions.

Any donation that you make would be much appreciated remember, I'm doing the hard bit by running all that very long way....   I'll try not fall over my own feet this time  but at least there is no sea wall en route (Don't ask).

I'm not the most gifted of athletes. I've heard the words "runs like a little old lady" (well they're right on at least two points there) and "should stick to walking" used to describe my running abilities. I managed to totter round in 58 minutes last year. There is photographic evidence somewhere on the net to prove this but I'm not saying where - I look like I'm chewing a wasp! I doubt I'll be any quicker this year, even in the extremely unlikely event that I take up RR on his completely odd and somewhat scary training idea involving the Benny Hill theme tune .   Eeeeeugghh

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Guide Dogs gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks,

Ros
