Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Motor Neurone Disease Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
My Dad was diagnosed with MND last year so this is a cause very close to my heart and any donations, however large or small will be very much appreciated.
Also, I hate running at the best of times so it's going to be a real challenge for me - it'll involve months of physical training as well as trying to cut out those crumble and custards at school lunch time so that I don't have to carry them (on my body) along the 13 mile course! The more sponsorship I get, the more motivated I'll become, knowing that it's going to help this very worth-while cause.
But what is Motor Neurone Disease?
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the motor neurones, leading to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
- IT KILLS 5 PEOPLE EVERY DAY IN THE UK
- IT LEAVES PEOPLE UNABLE TO WALK, TALK OR FEED THEMSELVES
- LIFE EXPECTANCY IS BETWEN 2 AND 5 YEARS.
So what does the MND Association do?
The MND Association:
- provides care and support for people with MND and their carers
- funds vital research into causes, treatments and a cure for MND
- relies on voluntary donations.
