Portage works with families to help them develop a quality of life and experience for themselves and their young children in which they can learn together, play together, participate and be included in their community in their own right

My son Thomas has benefitted from Portage in Stockport and I hope you'll feel able to support the service.
It is not a fashionable or high-profile charity and is likely to lose a significant proportion of its Government funding in 2011.

Our experience has shown it to be a practical and very supportive service and I think that by getting involved with kids at an early age and giving them targeted support, it may reduce the additional support needed in the long-term, to everybody's benefit.

I did the Great Manchester Run 10km on May 16 for Portage, finishing in 59 minutes. So, go on - give us a tenner.
