Story

Last Updated Tuesday 18th April 2006

5 Days now until our big day, however there is still plenty of time to sponsor our running team for this worthwhile charity.

Please pass the link to as many of your family and friends as possible.

Well done to Jim (O Nose) Oneil for completing the first leg of his marathon double last weekend. 36 miles in 30 degrees of heat with a time of 4 hours and 40 minutes is truly amazing. Well done mate!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.
Every little helps, but obviously the bigger your donation is, the better chance we have of reaching our target.

Completing the "London Marathon" has always been a goal that we have looked to achieve but never had the chance to fulfill. However after obtaining "Gold Bond" places from the National Autistic Society we are now able to complete our dream.

Our running group is made up of 8 people, 5 Football team managers from Rothwell Juniors FC based in Leeds . The landlord from the Woodlands Hotel in Rothwell plus 2 experienced runners who are overseeing our training program.

The youngest of our runners is 38, the oldest 52, with an average age of 44.  Over the last few years the majority of our fitness levels have deteriorated! Hence we are finding the training program very hard, however we are all committed to the cause and success will be achieved.

We have a target of £12,000 for this worthwhile charity; any donation would be greatly appreciated. With your generosity we can achieve this goal!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: National Autistic Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
