We at CARE International, fight poverty to help the world’s most vulnerable people.

Story

On 6th July 2013, on the hottest day of the year so far, Simon, Steve, Jamie and James covered the arduous marathon distance of 26.2 miles on foot, bike and kayak across some of Exmoor's steepest terrain.

A 15-mile cycle, which was punctuated by a 1.2-mile kayak, was followed by 10-mile run over difficult ground in temperatures over 25 degrees. We are pleased to announce that not only did we come 15th out of the 38 teams, but we also more than held our own in the fundraising compared with the other, generally larger, organisations.

CARE International help provide homes, protection from diseases and security to those affected by disasters such as earthquakes, conflict and floods. Care International might not be as well known as some other aid agenices, but currently only 8.5% of money received pays for administration, i.e. 91.5p of every £1.00 donated directly helps those in need. Money raised from this challenge is likely to be used to help those in need in Syria.

Please help us reach our target by donating generously to this very worthwhile cause.
